Predicting Weeks 13-15 For The G-Men

Copr. Newsday 2025

As the 2025 regular season falls into the rear view and the postseason mold begins to take shape, the New York Giants season will finally begin to settle down in terms of difficulty of opponents after what will be a brutal first dozen weeks.

Disclaimer: We feel it’s important to note that all predictions are under the assumption that every projected first string player is still healthy at this point in the year. We know it’s unlikely, but we’re not wizards.

Week 13: New York Giants vs. New England Patriots (MNF)

The Giants will look to kickoff December with a statement primetime victory under the lights in Foxborough. It’s been well documented that New England hasn’t recovered from the departure of Tom Brady, but that would be like asking a cable to recover from streaming, it’ll never happen. Nonetheless, the Patriots have finally begun to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Second-year quarterback Drake Maye may have been a rookie of the year contender had he played all season, and new head coach Mike Vrabel should bring back an aura of discipline that Bill Belichick imparted into the organization’s culture.

Needless to say, winning this game won’t be as easy as it was back in 2023. However, the Pats finished 31st in pass blocking and 32nd in run blocking, which will play right into the wheelhouse of what should be a dominant Giants front seven and the lack of receiver depth outside of the newly acquired (and aging) Stefon Diggs will only help what should be a middle-of-the-pack secondary. That combined with New England’s above average pass defense should add up to a gritty, low-scoring, high turnover contest which the Giants should win on paper.

Prediction: Win

Week 15: Washington Commanders vs. New York Giants

The Giants will meet up with Washington one more time in 2025 on December 14th in Metlife Stadium. Last year was a major oddity in the team’s all-time series, as Washington swept the Giants for only the third time since 2011. Despite the excellent ability of Washington QB Jayden Daniels, an expected sophomore slump as well as the Giants fresh legs coming off a bye week should be enough to have them squeak out a narrow victory in this one, not to mention both games last season came down to one score despite Big Blue having one of the worst seasons in franchise history. If these teams split the series like they normally do these days, the G-men will get their win back here.

Prediction: Win
