BREAKING: Thibodeaux placed on IR
Copr. Bleacher Report 2024
The New York Giants played the bearer of bad news today as they placed defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux on IR due to a wrist injury suffered in the Giants victory over the Seattle Seahawks this past Sunday. This is a huge loss for the Giants as Thibodeaux, along with star defensive linemen Brian Burns and Dexter Lawrence, was set to be a massive cornerstone of a defense which has already amassed a league-leading 22 sacks in the first 5 games of the NFL season.
Although it was a given that Thibodeaux would miss the Giants upcoming Sunday night clash with the Cincinnati Bengals, Thibodeaux will now also miss the Giants next three games during a crucial and difficult stretch in their schedule, as they host the Philadelphia Eagles in week 7, travel to face the Pittsburgh Steelers in week 8, and return to Metlife in week 9 for a rematch with the Washington Commanders.
Azeez Ojulari will be set to fill the massive shoes of Thibodeaux, who in his own right has 10 combined tackles and one sack thus far this season.
