Kayvon Thibodeaux injured, required surgery

Giants Head Coach Brian Daboll told reporters during his Wednesday press conference that standout Defensive End Kayvon Thibodeaux injured his wrist during the Giants 29-20 victory over the Seattle Seahawks this past Sunday. Daboll also told the press that Thibodeaux had surgery Wednesday morning to repair his fractured scaphoid bone, a small bone that mainly deals with controlling stability in the wrist. While not a season-ending injury, Daboll labeled its severity as “week-to-week,” essentially meaning that he will be absent in the lineup when the Giants host the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday Night Football in week 6; and may leave in doubt his status for week 7 when the Giants meet the Philadelphia Eagles in a crucial NFC East matchup.

Daboll also gave updates on the injury statuses of running back Devin Singletary and Wide Receiver Malik Nabers.

“He’s still in protocol.” Daboll said on Nabers  “He’ll do some stuff off to the side outside with the training staff today, so day-to-day”

Singletary on the other hand was limited in practice today, but it’s still a promising sign as he hopes to return to the field to form a two-headed monster with Tyrone Tracy Jr. after the rookie’s 129 yard breakout performance last Sunday in Seattle.
