The Chicago Bears defeated the New York Giants by a score of 24-20 this afternoon despite the Giants holding a 20-10 lead late in the game.
It was another brilliant performance by Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart which, sadly, was once again in vain. Dart threw for 242 yards while going 19/29 along with two rushing touchdowns before being removed from the game to be evaluated for a concussion, which it is now confirmed he has. The pace of the game changed on two particular plays in the second half, both of which are purely the responsibility of head coach Brian Daboll.

The first key play was the designed run where Dart suffered his previously mentioned concussion. Dart fumbled the ball on a designed run where the G-Men were rolling downfield into Chicago’s redzone with a 17-7 lead. Despite the Giants only allowing a field goal on the following drive, the fall-off from Dart to the shelled-out Russell Wilson was evident for the rest of the game.
Wilson’s unexpected appearance actually started rather well, as he threw a screen pass to Devin Singletary that went for over 40 yards to set the Giants up deep in Chicago territory. However, despite the running game coming to life in Dart’s absence for one drive, Big Blue was stopped around the 3 yard line on a delayed attempted run by Wilson on third down. After a made field goal by Younghoe Koo, who was just elevated from the practice squad, a 12-man on the field penalty on the Bears gave the Giants another opportunity to score a touchdown. Daboll refused, and Chicago scored 14 points in two minutes as the Giants offense predictably stalled out to lose them the game.
When asked if Wilson would start in place of Dart if the rookie sensation can’t pass concussion protocol by next week, Daboll stated “We’ll see. Right now, we just had a tough one here. I’ll take a look at everything.”
The General Consensus

It’s getting increasingly difficult to sound like a professional in these post game reports. This team is utterly pathetic and not from the standpoint of the talent they have. There hasn’t been a single game this season where the Giants have looked like they’ve had the smarter coaching staff. Brian Daboll should be fired the second he gets off the plane in New York. Will he? No one really knows. Owner John Mara has been so blinded by attempting to be consistent with his staff that he’s already thrown the season away for this team. Daboll needs to be gone, Kafka needs to be let go, and Shane Bowen shouldn’t even be considered for a custodian position at any NFL stadium in the country; he’d probably allow 550 square feet of mold per day to the bathrooms despite having amazing cleaning products at his disposal.
