The 2-4 New York Giants face a massive test in regards to their legitimacy as they take on the 4-2 Denver Broncos tomorrow evening at Empower Field. The Giants will be 10 days removed from their epic upset last Thursday of the Philadelphia Eagles when they take the field tomorrow, and will look to carry their momentum to another victory over a playoff contender before they travel back to the east coast to take on the Eagles for the second time in three weeks; this time in Philly. The Broncos on the other hand, have won three consecutive contests after a 1-2 start and haven’t allowed an opponent to score more than 17 points in a game over that span.

Word broke earlier today that Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton will miss his second straight game with a hamstring injury, so fellow wideout (and former Bronco) Lil’Jordan Humphrey will get the nod to play yet again after an impressive performance last Thursday. The entire receiving core for the Giants will have to play their best football of the season if they hope to remain competitive tomorrow, as Denver boasts the second best overall defense in the NFL behind the Green Bay Packers. However, it’s important to note that only half of the teams Denver has faced this season have a current record of .500 or better.

While the Giants fall into that category, they’re far from the same team that started the season 0-3. The dynamic duo of Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo have breathed new life into this franchise. The Giants have now scored a touchdown on their opening drive for three consecutive weeks, and despite the current lack of reputable receivers, they still continue to fight. Skattebo in particular has been a massive weapon on offense. The 2025 fourth round pick has now accumulated 338 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns since Week 2; including an amazing 98-yard, three touchdown showing against the Eagles last week.

Defensively, the Giants have struggled with inconsistency all season. Broncos running back J.K. Dobbins has found new life on the Broncos offense, already gathering 441 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns this season. The Giants, while improved in rush defense, still allow almost 130 rushing yards per game, which is 22nd in the league. Denver quarterback Bo Nix, while not overly dynamic in regards to his passing yards total, has still proven to be an immensely efficient signal caller with a 9-4 TD-INT ratio. The Giants defense will need to abandon playing deep zone defense and look out for options like wide receiver Courtland Sutton to get loose on short, effective passes from Nix.
The social media fanbases for these two proud franchises have been going to war this past week, and both squads look to come away with the bragging rights that will in all likelihood carry over to 2029, the next time these two squads are scheduled to play.
