The New York Giants were defeated by the Philadelphia Eagles 20-13 today on a chilly afternoon in South Philly. With the loss, the Giants have now concluded one of their worst seasons in franchise history, sitting at 3-14, and locking up the third overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Despite the loss, wide receiver Malik Nabers put a nice little bow on what has been a tremendous season for the rookie,  garnering five receptions for 64 yards including a gorgeous 45 yard catch for his lone touchdown of the game. All-in-all, Nabers finished his rookie campaign by breaking Big Blue’s franchise record for receptions in a season with 109 as well as 1,204 yards and 7 touchdowns. The young man from LSU has continued his school’s reputation of excellence for graduates at the wide receiver position as he looks to be the centerpiece of a Giants team now in need of yet another rebuild.

The G-men are now one of 20 teams looking ahead to the draft, and due to their inexplicable victory over the Indianapolis Colts last week, as well as losses by the Titans and Browns over the last two weeks,  New York has fallen from potentially picking first to sitting behind two teams both needy for a change under center. The Titans are almost a complete lock to select a quarterback, with the underperforming Will Levis still under his rookie contract and unlikely to secure a lucrative second chance. Cleveland however, has yet to go the distance in regards to Quarterback DeShaun Watson’s massive $230 million deal in which there are two years remaining. Watson’s inconsistent play and lack of support from the Cleveland fan base may still force the Browns to draft his successor regardless, even if he’s expected to start on opening day next season, which is the case for now.

Many members of the Giants faithful have been calling for the termination of the Schoen-Daboll regime in New York, with the duo leading Big Blue into a combined 9-25 record over the last two seasons after a 9-7-1 mark and a playoff victory in year one. At the time of writing, no moves have been made on Sunday night, although rumor has it there will be a sit-down with Owner John Mara, Daboll, and Schoen either tonight or tomorrow as the infamous ‘Black Monday’ approaches.
